The research will consist in the synthesis of fluorescent ligands that will not only promote the selective transfer of ions from the aqueous phase to the organic one in the form of complex compounds, but will also change the fluorescent characteristics during complexation. This will allow to detect the presence of target ions, and to monitor the efficiency of their extraction, the degree of their accumulation, and the process of their further concentration in the organic phase. popup.description2  The project's main goal is to improve radiochemical methods for determining radionuclides, particularly radioactive isotopes of metals in their divalent ions. It was proposed that this be done by controlling the stage of extraction concentration of ions using fluorescent dyes capable of complexation. The project consisted in developing a new methodological approach to the analysis of radionuclides, which includes the simultaneous use of the two most sensitive methods - fluorescence spectroscopy and radiometry. As a result of implementing the project, special fluorescent ligands were designed and synthesized that promote the selective transfer of ions from the aqueous to the organic phase in the form of complex compounds, and also change the fluorescent characteristics during complexation. This allowed both to detect the presence of target ions and to monitor the extraction efficiency, the degree of ion accumulation, and the process of their further concentration in the organic phase. The project is aimed at improving the monitoring of environmental contamination by radionuclides under the influence of technogenic factors, including factors related to military operations.
