The greatest strength of the influence of the exterior index was observed on the morphological properties of the udder (16.8%), and the least - on the reproductive capacity (1.2). In general, the generalized average strength of the influence of the udder-mass-metric index on all blocks of the studied traits was 6.5% and in 47% of the total number of comparisons was significant. Improvement of quantitative indicators of dairy productivity of cows in the Simmental herd under conventional milk production largely depends on the value of the selection index. The strength of the influence of the breeding index on milk yield for 305 days of lactation was 77%, milk fat - 90%, milk protein - 77%, total fat and protein production - 87%, relative milk yield - 69% and was statistically significant. Fisher's criterion (F) ranged from 82.5-381.4. In cows of this herd, an inverse relationship between reproductive traits and milk production is noted - with an increase in the duration of the inter-calving period from 374.8 days to 439 days, the level of cow milk yield also increases from 5025 to 8483 kg due to the lengthening of the service period. The increase in the length of the inter-calving period also led to a decrease in the reproductive rate and milk yield.
