The purpose of the research is to investigate the need for regulatory and methodological improvement of the activities of the governing bodies, units and subdivisions of the NGU as a component of the security and defense sector of Ukraine, as well as the formation of the theoretical and legal framework for the use of forces and means of the National Guard of Ukraine, the activities of officials in the application of the administrative and legal mechanism for the reinstatement of servicemen who have arbitrarily left military units, governing bodies and educational institutions of the National Guard of Ukraine. The first stage of the research is the basis for further work, as it forms the strategic directions of the research and provides a methodological basis for obtaining results, and the correct choice of the main topics that require deeper study and analysis determine the relevance and scientific significance of the research. The purpose of the 1st stage of the research is to select key areas and existing methods for the purpose of theoretical and legal analysis of reinstatement in military service as a continuation of military service of servicemen who have left the military unit or place of service without permission. To achieve this goal, the following main tasks are set: • selection of scientific sources that will provide a theoretical basis for further analysis of the problem of reinstatement in military service under the legal regime of martial law in Ukraine and study of the selected materials; • analysis of various scientific and practical sources with the aim of characterizing the types of legal liability for unauthorized leaving of a military unit or place of service; • identification of the main relevant research topics based on the analysis of current trends in the field of analysis of the problem of reinstatement in military service under the legal regime of martial law.
