The author analyses a set of factors that ensure the legitimation of the Ukrainian parliament in the context of exceeding its term of office. The author identifies social problems that may become topics of political competition in the future and outline the boundaries of new political confrontations. The author considers the process of de-occupation as a set of measures that would make it impossible to manifest separatism and irredentism in the future, as well as promote the economic integration of the de-occupied territories. The author predicts the emergence of psychological problems at the mass level in the future, in particular, ‘war fatigue’. The author analyses the options for action by the state authorities in relation to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate. The influence of the neo-imperial policy of the Russian Federation on the state of political and ethno-social relations in Ukraine is studied. Recommendations for the modernisation of the state ethnic and cultural policy are developed. For the first time, a scenario approach to Ukraine's place in the future world order is proposed. The applied aspect of the completed research is recommendations for actions to neutralise possible dangerous challenges and optimise positive areas of development, the prospect of using theoretical and methodological results in the development of state programmes and draft regulations, in substantiating the directions and determining the forms of activity of central executive authorities, local governments and civil society institutions.
