This stage of the research is the basis and foundation for the further creation of differential technologies for the restoration of the mental state of military personnel - participants in combat operations. Theoretical analysis made it possible to determine the prevailing mental states of combatants, which include combat stress, experiences of psychotraumatic circumstances and emotional burnout, as well as to determine their characteristic features. Due to the need to improve existing knowledge on the topic of our research, an interdisciplinary approach was used, which made it possible not only to substantiate the feasibility of studying each component of the markers of certain mental states, but also to propose a conceptual apparatus. In order to fulfill the tasks that were set and taking into account the complexity of the organizational aspects of conducting research with combatants during large-scale combat actions, a detailed research program was proposed, as well as a methodology for conducting its empirical part was developed. Additionally, a methodology for determining markers of combatants' mental states was proposed, based on mathematical statistical methods. The determined clinical-psychological and psychophysiological markers of mental states of combatants make it possible not only to develop differential technologies for restoring the mental health of combatants, but also to develop a psychodiagnostic toolkit based on them.
