Development, justification and testing of energy and empirical criteria (conditions) for the stability of the motions of unbalanced rotating supporting bodies in isolated and free mechanical systems. Main tasks: development of empirical and energy criteria (conditions) for the stability of the motions of unbalanced rotating supporting bodies in isolated and free mechanical systems; determination of the sequence, features and limits of application of the developed criteria (conditions) by solving a number of model problems and comparing the obtained and known results; solution of a number of new problems relevant for practice, in which the motion is modeled: spacecraft consisting of a rotating supporting body and several bodies attached to it; high-speed rotors of specific (in particular, mobile) machines; verification of the obtained results by full-scale experiments and 3D modeling. In the work, taking into account the features of isolated and free mechanical systems and the specifics of their research tasks, analytical methods for studying their dynamics (motion) - empirical and energy, which were previously developed by the authors of the work, have been developed, developed and substantiated. The methods allow: to compose differential equations of motion of the system; to search for steady-state modes of motion; to investigate the usual and conditional stability of these modes of motion. Using the developed methods, the most general properties of the specified mechanical systems are analytically established and the dynamics of specific systems relevant for practice are investigated. The obtained results are verified by computational experiments on a PC and by full-scale experiments on the created stands.
