Purpose - to form the basis of legal support for the professional adaptation of war veterans in terms of employment, the realization of the right to engage in entrepreneurial activity, and the improvement of mechanisms of social protection and support in the post-war period. Research methods. To achieve this goal, the author used a set of general scientific and special methods of legal science. The method of structural and functional analysis was used to systematize the legal mechanisms for ensuring professional adaptation and the right to entrepreneurship of war veterans, and the use of comparative methods made it possible to conduct a comprehensive analysis of their status, including through the mutual influence of European and national practices and enrichment of European legal science with Ukrainian experience. During the research on the topic, various methods were applied, including the comparative legal method to determine the interplay between Ukrainian legislation and international law; the formal-dogmatic method for analyzing and deepening the conceptual apparatus of domestic legislation and EU law; the historical-legal method to analyze the history of social relations in the field of law regarding entrepreneurial activities of war veterans during the pre-war and post-war periods, as well as the mechanisms for its implementation by public authorities and local self-government; and classification and grouping methods to characterize the powers of state and local authorities, rights and freedoms of individuals and citizens, among others.
