Object of the Study: Social relations arising in the process of ensuring the security of critical infrastructure as a component of Ukraine’s national security. Subject of the Study: General legal, criminal law, criminal procedural, and forensic mechanisms for ensuring the protection of CI facilities. Methodological Basis: The methodological foundation consists of general laws and categories of scientific knowledge. Both general scientific methods (dialectical, formal-logical, analytical) and special legal methods (comparative legal, formal legal, modeling, etc.) were employed in the study. Within the framework of the study, the following was carried out: analysis of the conceptual and terminological framework of the topic and classification of CI objects; legal characterization of the national CI protection system and identification of its features; description of the subjects and objects of the CI protection system; identification of major threats to CI security and strategic directions for the development of protection mechanisms; comparative legal analysis of national legislation in the field of CI protection with the respective systems of the EU and the USA; examination of factors causing CI security violations and their impact on the specifics of criminal investigations; theoretical and legal analysis of investigative mechanisms for criminal offenses in the CI domain; criminal legal qualification of such offenses and identification of general features of their forensic characteristics еt it.
