Their biochemical composition was analyzed, revealing the presence of alginates at 36,5%, laminarins at 2,6%, and total glucans at 0,21%. Screening of the antimicrobial activity of collection and freshly isolated strains demonstrated that the most pronounced antagonistic activity was exhibited by the actinomycete strains Streptomyces ambofaciens ONU 1016 and S. ambofaciens ONU 561, isolated from mussels in the Odessa Bay; Bacillus subtilis ONU 1125 from Black Sea bottom sediments; and the collection strains Trichoderma viride LBX-174 and T. harzianum LBX-181, isolated from the rhizosphere zone of soils. Based on these antagonists, four consortia were proposed to improve soil fertility. Microorganisms from all the studied consortia were capable of attaching to seaweed thalli and forming mature biofilms on them. The application of consortia onto granular seaweeds resulted in a consistently positive effect of the inoculants on the morphometric characteristics of barley seedlings. This method proved as superior comparing to treating seeds with suspensions of the consortia or their individual components. For the first time, it was shown that within consortia, the growth-promoting activity of marine microorganisms improves compared to seed treatments with monocultures of the same producers. This indicates a complex interaction among microorganisms from different ecological niches, which requires further investigation. Consortia A1 and A2, due to their positive effect on the morphometric parameters of barley seedlings, are recommended for further studies. Product Description popup.authors Anatii Vladyslav O.
