Purpose - to develop methods and tools for quality control of oceanographic data (temperature and salinity) obtained from various sources to ensure that the quality of the data of the Oceanographic Data Bank of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine meets national and international standards and recommendations. The research method is to summarise and analyse the existing information on quality control of oceanographic data (temperature and salinity) at the level of national and international standards and recommendations. The research work is devoted to the creation of a system for ensuring and controlling the quality of oceanographic data in marine environmental studies. Accurate and reliable measurements of these parameters are critical for creating reliable models of oceanographic processes and monitoring. The main means and methods of data collection, including in situ measurements, remote sensing and laboratory analysis, are considered. It emphasises adherence to recommended practices and standards, and the importance of controlled data for various research tasks such as modelling and analysis and marine resource management. The importance of an integrated approach to ensuring data accuracy is emphasised. Adherence to high standards and recommended quality control practices and the use of an integrated quality control approach to the collection and processing of oceanographic data is the key to successful marine environmental research and contributes to the development of scientific knowledge about the ocean.
