Zabolotny of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 The purpose of the research is to assess the species composition of the population of bacterial pathogens of walnut and some new varieties of flower crops (eustoma, keremek, cloves) introduced in Ukraine under the influence of various natural and climatic conditions, intense military operations; to study the complex of pathogen properties for their rapid identification and diagnosis. popup.description2 Plant diseases can have devastating economic, social or environmental consequences. Also, recently, due to the growing anthropogenic load on the environment not only do native plant pathogens persist, but new ones appear. In Ukraine an additional factor in the emergence of epiphytoties is the lack of phytosanitary measures in the occupied and frontline territories, which automatically makes them a reservoir of pathogens. Therefore, the aim of the work was to determine the species composition of bacterial pathogens of walnut and eustoma plants under the influence of various natural and climatic conditions, intense military operations and to study the complex of pathogen properties for their rapid identification and diagnostics As a result of research on the complex of phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, it was found that 3 strains isolated from walnut belong to the species A.tumefaciens, 15 strains -to the species X. arboricola and 6 strains - to the species P. syringae. We have recorded for the first time in Ukraine the lesion of walnut by P. syringae. And the most common pathogen in the surveyed areas is the causative agent of walnut vertical ulcer X. arboricola pv.juglandis. In the regions close to the combat zone (Kherson, Dnipro and Kharkiv regions) the simultaneous presence of brown apical necrosis and walnut leaf spot pathogens was recorded. According to the set of biological characteristics, the isolated strains from eustoma were classified as B. gladioli and P. fluorescens. P. fluorescens was the first to be isolated from eustoma plants, both in Ukraine and in the world. The phytopathogens P. fluorescens and B. gladioli are polyphagous and can affect a wide range of agricultural and flowering plants, so their uncontrolled spread and introduction with imported plants can pose a threat to crops. As a result of the research, the potential phytosanitary danger in the occupied territories, which may be reservoirs for bacterial plant pathogens, becomes apparent Product Description popup.authors Zarudniak Mykola I. popup.nrat_date 2025-05-07 Close
