One of the tools to combat this negative phenomenon is the European Union Serious and Organized Crime Threat Assessment (EU SOCTA). The EU SOCTA identifies the current state and trends in the development of organized crime in the EU. It is compiled using the appropriate methodology. From March 2025, SOCTA 2025 will come into effect, which will be the fourth iteration of this important document. The analytical review includes a comparison of the current SOCTA 2021 methodology and the future SOCTA 2025. In addition, an analysis of the methodological apparatus used in SOCTA Ukraine was conducted. Scientists from the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs studied, analyzed and proposed individual proposals in detail to further improve the domestic SOCTA methodology. From the point of view of a correct understanding of the methodology, the author's comparative table of SOCTA 2021 and SOCTA 2025 metrics, marked with colored markers, deserves attention. The proposed generalized scheme for calculating the integral index of organized crime is important, according to which it is possible to obtain forecasts of the development of the criminogenic situation in the country or its individual region and develop a mechanism for improving the fight against organized crime.
