Studies have been conducted to determine the inventory of gaps in the metalanguage of description, the conceptual and terminological apparatus of the study has been improved; the main trends in the development of Slavic languages ​​in synchrony and diachrony and linguistic manifestations of these trends at the systemic and functional-discursive levels have been identified and analyzed. An analytical review of the main trends in the functional behavior of language units in the practice of speech activity and the resulting speech phenomena, which have been established through the study of Slavic languages ​​at the systemic and functional-discursive levels, has been made.
