Object of the Study – the tasks of civil and commercial (economic) proceedings. Purpose of the Work – to develop a scientifically grounded approach to the essence and content of the tasks of civil and commercial proceedings and to reveal their impact on the institutions of procedural law for the further improvement of procedural legislation and judicial practice. Research Methods – philosophical, general scientific, and special legal methods of scientific cognition based on dialectical methodology, including: axiological, systemic, structural, structural-functional, teleological, praxeological, hermeneutic, formal-dogmatic, comparative legal, historical, prognostic methods, as well as analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, the method of legal modeling, the method of generalization of judicial practice, and the analysis of judicial statistics, among others. Results and Their Novelty – the scientific approach to understanding the essence and content of the tasks of civil and commercial proceedings has been updated. These tasks determine the direction of procedural activities of the court and participants in the judicial process and prevail over any other considerations in judicial proceedings. Their fundamental impact on certain institutions of procedural law and judicial practice has been identified. Proposals for improving the current procedural legislation of Ukraine and recommendations for the adjudication of certain categories of civil and commercial cases by courts in light of the goal-setting of proceedings have been provided. The scientific provisions formulated possess varying degrees of novelty and represent a significant contribution to the respective sectoral procedural sciences. The results of this work can be used in law-making activities, scientific research, and legal practice. Forecast Assumptions civil and commercial proceedings will continue to be improved.
