Resonance conditions are achieved either by illuminating a colloidal solution of nanoparticles and viruses/bacteria with a resonant wavelength or by exciting surface plasmons when the bio-object interacts with a metal surface. In all cases, the antiviral/antibacterial effect was enhanced by several tens of percent compared to such interactions without plasmon excitation. Experiments were conducted with silver nanoparticles coated with a quercetin shelltoo. It is known that the harmful effects of nanoparticles on the body are significantly reduced when the nanoparticles are encapsulated in a shell. It has been shown that silver nanoparticles with a quercetin shell do not exhibit antibacterial activity.
