Registration Date 22-05-2025 Organization Frantsevich Institute for Problems of Materials Science National Academy of Science of Ukraine popup.description1 Using the results of obtaining biomaterials from calcium-phosphate ceramics with osteoinductive and antibacterial properties, as well as products from bioactive ceramics with the help of 3D printing and coatings on titanium implants, create composite individual implants with osteoinductive and antibacterial properties using computer technologies and methods of regenerative medicine to restore the integrity of the bones of the facial skeleton after gunshot wounds. popup.description2  The goal of the second stage of the project is to study the structure, physicochemical properties, changes in phase composition and biological properties of the developed implants and coatings, and optimize technological parameters. Based on the results of the first stage of the project, the methods of germanium doping of bioactive ceramic samples were adjusted: other germanium compounds and the method of their introduction were used. In vivo studies of bioactive ceramic coatings of various functional effects were completed, which showed that implants with coatings of bioactive ceramic doped with germanium were best integrated into bone tissue. In vivo studies of bioactive ceramic doped with germanium confirmed that the replacement of biomaterial with full-fledged bone tissue occurred for the first time while preserving the size of damaged large bone fragments. In vitro studies confirmed the bactericidal properties of modified bioactive ceramics, in addition, it was determined that samples of bioactive ceramics doped with germanium synthesized by the new method have a significant preventive antibiofilm effect, which is more resistant to antibiotics than bacterial strains. Studies of the structure, physicochemical and biological properties of the developed biomaterials and coatings have allowed optimizing the technological parameters of implant manufacturing. The results obtained open up new possibilities for the use of bioactive ceramics in the restoration of skull bones after gunshot wounds. The work was performed at a high international level, modern research methods were used, the results obtained are competitive. The article and abstracts have been published.
