Methodology of the study: methods of forestry and forest science, forest inventory, geobotany, resource studies, general and radiation ecology, mathematical statistics. Vertical migration of cesium 137Cs in soils, as well as patterns of 137Cs accumulation in the tissues and organs of trees, shrubs and grasses, were studied at designated sample plots. Samples were collected, and the specific activity of 137Cs was measured to assess current levels of radioactive contamination in forestry products.
