Aim of the study: to establish criteria for evaluating of the amelioration functions of forest shelter belts and stands planted in forest reclamation sites. Methodology of the study: mensuration, ecological and physiological, biochemical, mathematical-statistical and other methods. The reclamation parameters of forest shelterbelts were studied, and work continued on developing an algorithm based on GIS analysis and remote sensing methods to assess the reclamation efficiency of forest shelterbelts. Criteria and indicators were developed for evaluating the reclamation functions of forest shelterbelts. The formation of artificial forest ecosystems on forest reclamation sites under intensive recreational pressure was further studied.
