Aim of the study: to improve a level of forest management informational support as well as to enhance planning and implementation of adaptive forest management. Methodology of the study: systematic forestry and ecological approach, international methods of selective statistical inventory and monitoring of forests, guidelines for the inventory of Ukrainian forests, mathematical modeling methods, GIS. Scientific and methodological support for the development of the National Forest Inventory (NFI) of Ukraine was provided through the application of the Field-Map mobile geoinformation technology. A specialized software module based on Field-Map was developed for the collection of NFI field data. Methods to improve the quality of field data collection were proposed, and laser scanning of forest vegetation was conducted to test advanced approaches to remote forest monitoring. An information framework was established for modeling the dynamics of forest resources under climate change and the impact of military operations. Forest monitoring data on the phytodiversity of forest plant communities in Polissia was summarized and the state of rare and adventitious components of forest phytodiversity was assessed.
