Aim of the study: study of the pyrogenic damage peculiarities in Ukrainian forests in different natural zones in order to provide scientific support for forestry measures on mitigating negative impact caused by forest fires. Methodology of the study: methods of comparative ecology, post-event and systems analysis. Key morphometric criteria for fire resistance in Scots pine were iswntified, and age-related changes in tree fire resistance were assessed. These findings support the development of silvicultural measures aimed at establishing fire-resistant stands and selecting trees based on fire resistance traits. The formation of forest combustible material complexes was studied, and pyrogenic damage to forests across natural zones of Ukraine was evaluated. Based on analyses from over 100 research plots, scientifically grounded recommendations were made to mitigate the negative impacts of fires on Ukrainian forests and enhance their fire resistance.
