The scientific study contains the norms of the current legislation of Ukraine, which regulates public relations regarding the voluntary surrender of firearms. Emphasis is placed on the content of draft laws of Ukraine aimed at regulating these issues. Problematic issues of applying the provisions of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine are identified. Proposed changes to the legislation of Ukraine are proposed to encourage (stimulate) the population by the National Police of Ukraine to surrender (remove from the so-called "shadow") firearms and ammunition on the basis of partnership and aimed at meeting their needs in public safety and order.
