The aim is a study the relevant source-scientific and historiographical aspects of the topic, to analyze the regional specificity of socio-political and socio-cultural processes in Eastern Europe in modern times (XX - the first quarter of the XXI century). Research methods: problem-chronological, historical-genetic, historical-systemic, diachronic, comparative-historical. The novelty of the study is determined by the fact that it reveals the peculiarities of the socio-political and socio-cultural development of the countries of Eastern Europe in the modern era (XX - the first quarter of the XXI century), in particular, the territories that were part of the Russian Empire and the USSR during the formation of the foundations of industrial society here , as well as made reasonable conclusions about the results of this civilizational process. The results of the GDR are implemented in the educational process at the Faculty of History of DNU. According to the provisions and conclusions of the National People's Republic of China, the training of scientific personnel is carried out, and student theses and term papers are prepared. The practical application of the GDR also consists in the possibility of using its results in educational courses and special courses on the history of Eastern Europe.
