During the study, a classification of approaches to understanding the protection of civil rights has been developed. Methods, means and forms of protection of civil rights have been identified. The mechanism of protection of human rights has been studied. It has been established that it is formed to protect, defend and restore violated rights. It has been proven that such a mechanism contains two structural elements: forms (normative, institutional and procedural) and means of protection. The content of the concepts: “human rights”, “means of protection”, “alternative dispute resolution”, “civil-legal methods of protecting intellectual property rights”, “protection of the rights and interests of participants in family relations”, “medical services”, “legal guarantees for the provision of medical services” has been improved. The judicial practice of protecting human rights in a social state has been analyzed. It has been established that one of the most common categories of disputes that arise between citizens and subjects of government authority are disputes regarding the assignment and recalculation of pensions; disputes regarding the return of unjustifiably paid funds for mandatory state pension insurance when concluding a contract of purchase and sale of real estate for the first time; cases on claims for the accrual and payment of monetary indexation benefits to military personnel who are discharged to the reserve.
