The aim of the work is to establish the regularities of the influence of spatial confinement and interaction at the nanoscale inclusion-macroenvironment interface on the parameters of phase transitions, relaxation processes and kinetics of heat and mass transfer in spatially inhomogeneous systems in general and to create physical models of the observed phenomena, taking into account such influence. The main objectives of the project are: to investigate phase transformations and relaxation processes in two-component matrix porous systems with different pore sizes and surface chemical structure and to propose molecular models of these processes; to investigate the kinetic properties in polysaccharide-water and substituted polysaccharide-water systems and to create their molecular models; to investigate the processes of formation of temperature and thermoelastic perturbations in gels and layered structures based on them. One of the ideas of the project is that in the existing theory of phase transitions of the first kind it is essential to achieve a critical size of the nucleus of a new phase when approaching the transition temperature. If the size of spatial inhomogeneities (pores) is smaller than this value, then the coexistence of two phases in the pore is doubtful. We believe that in a nanopore a substance can exist in only one phase, and the phase transition occurs by a jump without the appearance of a critical nucleus.  Product Description popup.authors Alieksieiev Oleksandr M.
