The Hansen solubility parameters of these polyesters were determined, which made it possible to select compatible polymer-plasticizer pairs and polymer-plasticizer-solvent triads. Three bio-based plasticizers (epoxidized acids and acetylcholine-glycerol ionic liquid) were synthesized, their compatibility with polylactide was proven, and their effectiveness in reducing the film formation temperature was confirmed. Stable emulsions with d₅₀ = 3.4 μm were obtained by dispersion using sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate and xanthan gum. A method for solvent removal and a new criterion for plasticizer efficiency—film transparency temperature—were proposed. It was shown that the new bioplastifiers are not inferior to petroleum analogues, paving the way for reducing the fossil carbon content in coatings.
