A theoretical, methodological and empirical toolkit has been developed to explain social transformations in politics, education, economics, and the public administration system caused by digitalization processes. The main trends and new formats of socio-structural and institutional changes caused by digital development have been identified, in particular, new institutional (re)configurations, stratification markers, and factors of professional self-realization. The potential opportunities and risks of digitalization of the social space of society at the socio-cultural, organizational, managerial, and informational and communicative levels have been identified, taking into account national and regional aspects. The readiness of society as a whole and the population in particular to the conditions of life in a digital reality has been assessed (the level of digital literacy of the population, critical thinking skills in the digital environment, digital competencies, (pro)active practices). Research methods: analysis, synthesis, method of system-structural analysis, comparison, typology; among the methods of specific sociological research - secondary analysis of information, survey, focus group, narrative and discursive analysis of text documents. The scientific value of the study lies in the development of a comprehensive integrated approach that takes into account the social effects of digitalization of Ukrainian society and the assessment of the real and potential risks and consequences associated with it.
