The object of research is modern technologies and software for analyzing video data obtained by criminal analysis units from video surveillance systems and which record persons and other objects of interest in the investigation of relevant criminal offenses. The subject of the study is recommendations for the use of modern technologies and software products for the detection and recognition of individuals based on their physical, physiological or behavioral characteristics in video data obtained from video surveillance systems, as well as vehicles and other objects (weapons, etc.), which can be used as electronic evidence and operational information in solving criminal offenses. Research methods are selected based on the defined goals and objectives, taking into account the object and subject: study and analysis of domestic and foreign literary sources and other materials, including from the Internet, regarding the general principles of building video monitoring systems, theoretical foundations of modern methods, technologies and software tools for detecting and recognizing individuals based on their physical, physiological or behavioral characteristics, as well as vehicles and other objects, using video data from video monitoring systems; logical and comparative analysis of known methods and technologies and other materials, etc. Results obtained: methodological recommendations were prepared to study the use of video analysis technologies and software for recognizing faces and other objects in criminal analysis.
