Scientific results: the stages of transformation of the agroecological concept, the evolution of views on agroecology, and the fundamental principles of its identification as a system of agricultural production and the formation of sustainable, fair, and inclusive agri-food systems are highlighted; the content of the agroecological transition and its socio-economic dimension is revealed. The existing forms and features of human activity in the field of agroecology in Ukraine are generalized, conceptual approaches to scaling up the agroecological transition and the resulting changes in agricultural production, knowledge generation and dissemination systems, the formation of new socio-economic relations, and the institutional structure are determined. Methodological principles for evaluating the agroecological transition using the FAO-developed TAPE tool, the Agroecological Compliance Criteria Tool, and a scoring system for assessing the quality of implementation of agroecology principles based on its key elements are highlighted. The necessity of forming a Roadmap for the implementation of the agroecological transition policy in Ukraine as a coordination document that defines the ways, stages, and means of greening the agri-food sector is substantiated.
