The goal of the project is to synthesize Fe(II) compounds based on monodentate and polydentate bridging ligands with predictable types of supramolecular interactions that cause controlled phase-labile behavior and spin-crossover, coordination metal-organic framework polymers capable of absorbing/releasing small molecules; synthesis of mononuclear and polymeric crystalline compounds with high-valence states of transition metals, study of their magnetic, optical and catalytic properties; establishing the patterns of the relationship between the molecular and supramolecular structure of metal complexes and developing on this basis original scientifically sound approaches to the creation of a new generation of bistable and catalytic compounds. The idea of the project is to develop supramolecular principles for obtaining metal complexes with controlled bistable and photo- and electrocatalytic activity. The working hypothesis of the project is based on the assumption of the dominant influence of the molecular structure of the ligand and the molecular environment and the possibility of its "programming" to control the macroscopic properties and the corresponding spectrum of physicochemical characteristics of compounds.
