Research objective: development of automation methods and tools that provide stable, effective and adaptive control under variable operating conditions. The paper presents a comparative analysis of traditional (PID controllers) and modern intelligent approaches, such as fuzzy logic, neural network and adaptive control systems. Research methods: fuzzy set theory and logic approaches, expert analysis, classical automatic control theory, as well as methods of designing and optimizing computer control systems for oil and gas sector enterprises were used. The research work considers the issue of designing, analyzing and implementing automated control systems for objects with deterministic and stochastic characteristics. Deterministic systems are described by accurate mathematical models with fixed parameters, while stochastic systems include random disturbances, uncertainties and noise effects, which requires the use of special control approaches. The research results can be used to automate technological processes in industry, in particular in the oil and gas, chemical, and food industries, as well as in technical diagnostics systems and robotics..
