The object of the research is the filtering of image sequences distorted by uncorrelated or correlated additive noise. The subject of the research is filtering algorithms for processing sequences of digital textured images (video sequences), represented as random fields and distorted by the presence of uncorrelated or correlated additive noise. The purpose of the study is to improve the efficiency of filtering image sequences characterized by the presence of texture and distorted by additive noise, through the development of algorithms based on a two-stage random field processing approach. This approach enables the parallelization of computations, thereby increasing the throughput of input data processing and reducing computational complexity compared to strictly two-dimensional statistical filtering methods. The outcome of the study is the development of algorithms for suppressing uncorrelated and correlated additive noise in sequences of digital textured images (video sequences). These algorithms are based on the two-stage random field processing methodology, which involves the application of a one-dimensional filtering procedure as the initial stage. This filtering is performed independently along each available coordinate, making it suitable for implementation using parallel computing technologies. The second stage involves a posteriori estimation by combining the intermediate results obtained during the first stage. The theoretical findings obtained as a result of this research can be applied in the implementation of interference suppression procedures and signal-to-noise ratio enhancement in data acquisition, analysis, and processing systems, where information is presented in the form of image sequences and may be adversely affected by additive noise.
