Investigate and take into account different contexts of attitude to the profession of doctor, the formation of social demands for the popularity of the profession. popup.description2  The researchers of the comprehensive scientific project “The Image of a Doctor: Philological and Historical-Cultural Aspects” examined the problem of constructing the doctor’s image through philological and historical-cultural perspectives. It is emphasized that the image of a doctor in society has always been not only a professional but also a cultural phenomenon. Its formation took place in interaction with linguistic practices, literary texts, and historical traditions. The lexical and stylistic features of how doctors are represented in works of fiction and journalism shaped a certain symbolic canon. At the same time, in different historical epochs, the doctor’s image reflected social expectations, ethical norms, and humanistic values. The study is based on the analysis of historical sources, archaeographic materials, literary works, translations, and interpretations. The use of the comparative-historical method makes it possible to trace changes in the representation of the medical image in both national and international contexts. The application of analysis and synthesis methods provides an opportunity to identify stable tendencies and innovations in the development of the professional image. The research results may serve as a foundation for further studies in history, the history of medicine, philology, and cultural studies.
