The purpose of the research is to improve the mechanism for attracting foreign direct investment in Ukraine in the context of building an innovation-driven economy. The defined goal determines the logic of the study and its objectives: generalizing the essence and key characteristics of FDI as a form of international capital movement; analyzing theoretical approaches and empirical studies on the role of FDI in ensuring economic development; summarizing the theoretical and methodological foundations of studying the innovative component of state economic policy; systematizing methodological approaches to assessing the impact of investments on host economies; characterizing the dynamics of FDI inflows and stocks in Ukraine; analyzing the geographical and sectoral structure of FDI in Ukraine; identifying the specific features of structural transformations in FDI volumes across Ukrainian regions under wartime conditions; evaluating the impact of FDI on the development of Ukraine’s agriculture and industry; determining the degree of dependence of the services sector on accumulated FDI by type of economic activity; substantiating priorities for increasing the knowledge-intensity of FDI in the real sector after the war; improving tools to enhance the investment attractiveness of high-tech industries in the context of post-war recovery; and developing measures to strengthen the state’s innovation policy as a component of improving Ukraine’s investment climate.
