The scientific approaches to the formation of physical culture of the individual in the conditions of higher education institutions were analyzed, in particular, the conceptual definition of the term "physical culture of the individual of the applicant" was clarified. An innovative system of physical culture education in the process of extracurricular sports and mass activities in a technical institution of higher education was developed and implemented. At the final stage of the study, an assessment of the effectiveness of the proposed system was carried out and its impact on the formation of physical culture of applicants was determined, which allowed to improve the psychophysical state of applicants, increase their level of motivation for physical education and recreation activities.
