The electronic editorial system of the Ukrainian Journal of Physics (https://ujp.bitp.kiev.ua) is a cloud-based online service built on the basis of the internationally recognized Open Journal Systems 3 platform (https://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs). It allows the entire process of editorial work of the journal to be automated and optimized, starting from the stage of submitting a new article by the author and ending with the publication of journal issues online and indexing of articles in international databases. The electronic editorial system has been operating for more than four years and currently has more than 2,000 users. Thanks to funding received within the framework of the Informatization Program of the NAS of Ukraine in previous years, the electronic editorial system of the Ukrainian Journal of Physics (UJP) was adapted to the requirements of the European Open Science Cloud OpenAIRE (www.openaire.eu) and registered as a data provider to this leading database. As a result of the project this year, the database of the electronic UJP edition in the European Open Science Cloud OpenAIRE was expanded by publishing the archive issues of the journal for 2011–2012 (about 350 articles). Each article received a unique digital doi identifier from CrossRef. The metadata of each published article is automatically transferred to the OpenAIRE database in the OAI-MPH format (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), which is used by this database. The compatibility of the metadata of articles in the electronic edition database with the OAI-MPH format is ensured by the official OpenAIRE plugin for the Open Journal Systems 3 platform. To ensure maximum compatibility, the current version of Open Journal Systems has been updated to the latest version 3.3, which has improved data protection protocols and a number of significant improvements in functionality.
