The relevance of these is due to the need for reduced waste of rare chavun and steel bar, stabilization of the heat balance of smelting and increased efficiency of disposal of waste from machine-building enterprises. The main results of the work show that the use of briquettes from chavun shavings makes it possible to reduce the consumption of rare chavun by 10–15 kg/t of steel, the rate of ferroalloy recovery by 20–25%, and increase the dephosphorization by 10–15% and increase the yield of added metal. It has been proven that by controlling the strength and consistency of briquettes, stinks can replace part of the traditional charge without compromising the hardness of the finished steel. The practical significance of these results lies in the development of the recommendation that the best minds should use briquettes from chavun shavings in a converter mill, which absorbs the changed vitrate of metallurgical iron, energy resources and environmental protection for Dovkilla.
