A significant influence of the FokI polymorphism of the VDR gene exon on the presence of sports achievements was established. It was found that the Apal polymorphism of the VDR gene has an effect on the distribution of genotypes among athletes, which is confirmed by statistically significant differences between the control groups and the groups of athletes. This, in turn, indicates the clear role of this polymorphism in the formation of genetic prerequisites for physical activity. Statistically significant differences in the distribution of Bsml genotypes between the three groups of athletes were found (P = 0.03). This indicates a potential role of the Bsml genotype in the formation of sports achievements and may also indicate a genetic predisposition to certain sports or levels of physical training, in athletes with higher qualifications (candidates for masters of sports and masters of sports) there is an increased frequency of heterozygous b/B and homozygous b/b genotypes. The influence of the TaqI polymorphism of the VDR gene on the presence of sports achievements was not proven.
