The increase in the prevalence of chronic diseases, the consequences of physical inactivity and stress overload, as well as the ageing of society, make it urgent to find effective methods for the prevention, correction and rehabilitation of functional disorders. An additional challenge for Ukraine has been the war, which has led to a significant increase in the number of people with injuries, wounds and post-traumatic disorders, requiring comprehensive physical therapy and rehabilitation programmes. The rehabilitation of military personnel, veterans and civilians affected by the war reinforces the need to improve scientifically based approaches to health improvement. The development of theoretical and methodological foundations in this area is of high scientific and practical value, as it allows for increasing the effectiveness of preventive and restorative measures, forming an evidence base for the introduction of innovative technologies into physical therapy practice, and ensuring an improvement in the quality of life of the population. The object of the study is the process of health improvement and physical therapy for different population groups in the current socio-economic and demographic conditions, including the rehabilitation needs of people affected by military operations.
