Subject of research: Spatial distribution and correlation of complexes of igneous and metamorphic rocks of the Argentine Islands archipelago in the area of the Ukrainian Antarctic Station "Akademik Vernadsky". Purpose of work: Construction of a geological and structural map of the area around the Ukrainian Antarctic Station "Akademik Vernadsky". The work summarizes the results of previous domestic and foreign studies concerning the geological structure of the Antarctic Peninsula and the area of the Ukrainian Antarctic Station "Akademik Vernadsky". The study of rock samples was carried out by petrographic and mineralogical methods using polarization microscopy, which made it possible to establish the mineral composition, textures and degree of metasomatic transformations of rocks. To determine the geochemical characteristics, X-ray fluorescence analysis was used, based on which the samples were clustered and the main formational complexes were identified. Based on field, laboratory and remote sensing data, a detailed geological and structural map of the area of the Ukrainian Antarctic Station "Akademik Vernadsky" and the Argentine Islands archipelago was created. For the first time, classical petrographic and geochemical methods were combined for this region with highly detailed morphostructural analysis using orthophotos and UAV surveys, which made it possible to determine the main lineaments, active faults, block boundaries and features of the modern tectonic regime.
