The relevance of the work is consist of the need to transition to a competency-oriented model of professional training that meets modern socio-cultural challenges, trends in the development of creative industries and the needs of the labor market. Stage and variety art is considered as a multi-component sphere that combines theatrical and performative, musical, choreographic, directing and production components, and therefore requires a comprehensive scientific and methodological understanding of the process of training future specialists. The scientific novelty of the obtained results lies in the study of the process of professional training of specialists in the stage and variety direction as an independent direction in the structure of higher art education. Conceptual provisions were developed that clarify the essence and structure of the professional competence of a future pop artist, pedagogical conditions, forms and methods of its formation were determined. The results obtained expand scientific ideas about the integration of artistic, pedagogical and cultural training, contribute to the establishment of an interdisciplinary approach in higher education and increasing the efficiency of the educational process. The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of using the developed theoretical and methodological provisions to improve curricula, programs, special courses and trainings in art institutions of higher education. The developed methodological support, created on the basis of modern educational technologies and an interactive model of organizing the educational process, is aimed at the formation of professional competencies of higher education students.
