The aim of the study is to establish the pathogenetic significance of non-coding RNAs, hypoxia-inducible factor, senescent cells and neuroinflammation in PTSD and to evaluate the effectiveness of experimental therapy of this disease using intermittent hypoxia-hyperoxia and specific inhibitors of HIF prolyl hydroxylase.

Using reverse transcription and real-time polymerase chain reaction, the relative mRNA expression of Adcyap1, Adcyap1r1, Vipr1, Vipr2, and BDNF in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex of mice was evaluated. Analysis of the results showed no differences in gene expression in the hippocampus. Still, a significant difference was seen for certain genes in the prefrontal cortex of mice with experimental PTSD.
