And first of all, one of the main tasks is to ensure reliable interaction in the "wheel-rail" system, for a more rational use of material and technical means, which allows optimizing the entire system of track management. When a train moves, complex processes occur in the "wheel-rail" contact, which negatively affect the upper structure of the track and reduce its resource. A special danger for subways, and incomparably greater than for trunk railways, is the widening of the track in curved sections due to the wear of the resistant flanges of the "Metro" under-rail pads on the outer rail thread. The reason for this is the structural features of the fastening and large impact loads, the effect of friction in the presence of abrasive wear products of track elements and tunnel contamination that occur when trains pass along curved sections of the track in the subway.
