A working prototype of a mini-laboratory (working name – Mini-laboratory “Unitest-Toxid”) has been created for biotesting water and bottom sediments of water bodies, including water sources subject to unpredictable negative impacts, such as military and related activities. Methodological recommendations have been developed for assessing toxicity and identifying the class of pollutants in water and bottom sediments, which are both general in nature and practical recommendations for using the Minilaboratory and performing a comprehensive assessment, with possible procedure options depending on the tasks and configuration. The prototype of the compact laboratory has been tested, and the comprehensive assessment technology has been validated in collaboration with potential end users of the innovative product.
