Assessment of the peculiarities of the parasite community formations of the Antarctic black rockcod Notothenia coriiceps as a model fish species will allow us to assess the dynamics of changes in the parasite infracommunities of teleost fish in the region over the past decades. popup.description2 The aim of this research work is to analyze temporal changes in the helminth communities of teleost fish in the Argentine Islands region based on data collected in 2014–2025, to assess the current state and dynamics of individual parasite groups. Assessment of the peculiarities of the parasite community formations of the Antarctic black rockcod Notothenia coriiceps as a model fish species will allow us to assess the dynamics of changes in the parasite infracommunities of teleost fish in the region over the past decades. Methods - identification of helminths of different taxonomic groups by morphologe and statistical analysis of the parameters of parasite populations using specialized programs. In five species of fish collected in 2024-2025, 20 helminth species from 5 taxonomic groups were found: 2 species of monogeneans, 5 species of trematodes, 3 species of cestodes, 4 species of nematodes and 6 species of acanthocephalans. 18 species were found in N. coriiceps. According to the prevalence (P), three groups of helminth species were separated: dominant (P=70–100%), background (P=20–70%) and rare (P < 20%) species. A significant decrease in the species richness of the helminth communities (from 28 to 18 species) and a trend of decreasing diversity Shannon and Simpson indices over the last 10 years were recorded. The use of a regression model revealed a statistically significant increase in N. coriiceps infection in 2020 and 2021 and a significant decrease in 2022–2024 relative to the base year 2014. The use of machine learning and statistical modeling clarified the indicator role of the trematodes Macvicaria pennelli, Genolinea bowersi, and acanthocephalans Corynosoma spp. to determine changes in the N. coriiceps helminth communities. A new species of acanthocephalan Corynosoma paraevae sp. n. and a new species of monogeneans Pseudobenedenia galindezensis sp. n from N. coriiceps were described.
