To locate leaks, the complex includes the RASTR-2V hardware–software complex, whose operating principle is based on an advanced acoustic correlation method for determining leak coordinates, and the A-10T3 thermoacoustic leak detector for the detection of small and hidden defects. To assess damage and the remaining service life of pipeline sections in pits, the complex uses the EMA-4 acoustic emission (AE) system. The complex integrates these subsystems into a unified decision support system for network diagnostics. For efficient leak detection under conditions of network ageing and military impacts, the following have been developed: a method and instrument mode for determining the actual propagation velocity of acoustic waves of hydraulic shock along the pipeline using controlled probing signals, which makes it possible to refine the leak location and control pipeline filling; a mode of parametric comparative analysis of two cross-correlation functions computed for different sensor positions; an improved mode of spatio-frequency selection of leak signals under interference-induced distortions and low signal-to-interference ratio, software for pipeline acoustic signal recording stations, and a subsystem for correlation-based radio synchronization of the stations; an adaptive signal filtering mode for removing interference by recording the interference signal and modelling its propagation channels to sensors located on both sides of the leak; a computer program for AE data processing that implements criteria for assessing pipeline damage and its remaining service life; and a methodology for the use of the complex. Laboratory and field tests have confirmed the operability and effectiveness of the complex, and pathways for its replication and implementation in t Product Description popup.authors Nedosieka Stanislav A.
