Registration Date 01-12-2025 Organization Sumy State University popup.description1 The goal of the project is to increase the effectiveness of treatment of experimental purulent polyresistant surgical infection by developing new Ag/Cu–nanocomposites and their minimally invasive ultrasound-associated application on experimental models of purulent wound and widespread purulent peritonitis popup.description2 1. A method for treating experimental purulent wounds with the combined use of Ag/Cu nanocomposites and low-frequency ultrasound was developed, and its effectiveness was confirmed due to faster cleansing of purulent-necrotic tissues, reduced inflammation, faster eradication of bacteria, maturation of granulation tissue, and accelerated epithelialization. The presented method of treatment had advantages compared to monotherapy with Ag/Cu nanocomposites, low-frequency ultrasound, and chlorhexidine solution. 2. A method for treating experimental generalized purulent peritonitis with the combined use of Ag/Cu nanocomposites and low-frequency ultrasound was developed, and its effectiveness was confirmed due to reduced inflammatory manifestations in the abdominal organs, faster eradication of bacteria, reduced number of necessary planned sanations and terms of laparostomy closure, reduced number of complications, and mortality. The presented method of treatment had advantages compared to monotherapy with Ag/Cu nanocomposites, low-frequency ultrasound, and chlorhexidine solution. 3. Morpho-histological, cytological, immunohistochemical, bacteriological, immunological, laboratory, and toxicological features and regularities of the combined use of Ag/Cu nanocomposites and low-frequency ultrasound were established on experimental models of purulent surgical infection (purulent wounds and generalized purulent peritonitis). The results of morpho-histological, cytological, immunohistochemical, bacteriological, immunological, and laboratory studies confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed treatment method, and the results of biochemical and toxicological studies confirmed the safety of its use in treating various forms of purulent surgical multidrug-resistant mixed infections Product Description popup.authors Roman M.
