The purpose of the work is to develop an energy-efficient technology for forming heat-resistant coatings on aluminum alloys by plasma electrolytic oxidation. Research methods include a systematic approach, mathematical and computer modeling methods, and laboratory experiments. Parts made of aluminum alloys were selected to strengthen PEO. It was found that the gradual replacement of aluminum with chromium in the coating leads to an improvement in its properties. The use of functionally gradient materials provides an increase in the retention capacity of the PEO coating. Based on the modeling results, the modes were justified and the installation for PEO in a flowing electrolyte was modernized. The modes of cutting and plastic deformation and roughness before PEO were selected. It was found that the composition of PEO coatings includes a high-temperature phase of aluminum oxide, and residual compressive stresses arise in them. An experimental plan was selected and the parameters of PEO were optimized for the formation of wear-resistant coatings. The modes of diamond grinding of PEO coatings to obtain a given roughness were studied. Prototype samples of parts with oxide heat-resistant coatings formed under optimal modes were manufactured. The results of bench tests of hardened parts showed an increase in the service life compared to serial ones. A technological process for forming heat-resistant PEO coatings on parts made of aluminum alloys and recommendations for practical application have been developed.
