Based on the developed agrobiological foundations and the established features of growth and development of sorghum and the regularities of the crop productivity formation, promising modern varieties with a high content of dry matter and carbohydrates, broad technological properties, suitable for processing for energy purposes will be identified. The yield of biofuel and energy from the grown biomass of sorghum will be calculated, which will allow assessing the energy potential of varieties and hybrids of the crop, as well as elements of their cultivation technology. It was established that the duration of the vegetation period of the Karlykove 45 variety had the shortest, at a plant density of 140 thousand pcs./ha – 97 days, and at 180 thousand pcs./ha – 102 days, the Krasen variety vegetated for 7 days longer, the Vincher variety 105 and 110 days, respectively. It was found that a feature of the vine sorghum is the high bushiness of the crop. It was established that the Karlykove variety develops 5-6 pcs. additional developed stems at a plant density of 100-140 thousand pcs./ha, at a density of agrophytocenosis (180-220 thousand pcs./ha) up to 4 pcs. The Krasen variety produced the largest number of stems – 8 at a plant density of 140-180 thousand pcs./ha and 10 pcs. at a plant density of 100 thousand pcs. /ha of additional productive stems. The Wincher variety had an average bushiness, which was 4-5 pcs., respectively. It was established that the optimal density of the agrophytocenosis of sorghum vine, which ensures high crop productivity, is 140 and 180 thousand pcs./ha. Product Description popup.authors Nadiia O.
