On marginal lands depending on varietal characteristics, biotic and abiotic factors using different types of planting material and methods of storage. popup.description2 The aim of the study was to investigate the patterns of formation of aboveground phytomass structure and to evaluate the qualitative and quantitative parameters of phytomass components of bioenergy willow (Salix L.) depending on varietal characteristics, different types of planting material, and storage methods. The experimental design involved storing cuttings and shoots of two varieties, Panfyilska and Zbruch, in a storage facility at an air temperature of 3–5 °C using three storage methods: in containers, in a sand layer, and in polyethylene bags, with and without lime treatment of the cut surfaces. It was established that mold infection of cuttings and shoots of both varieties occurred only when stored in polyethylene bags, regardless of lime treatment of the cut surfaces. Under all other storage methods, no fungal infection of the planting material was detected. In all variants, both cuttings and shoots were generally well preserved. Based on the number of sprouted planting units and their disease incidence, it was found that the cuttings and shoots of Salix triandra var. Panfyilska showed better preservation across different storage methods. The highest rooting rate of Panfyilska cuttings (81%) was recorded when stored in polyethylene bags with lime-treated cut surfaces. For the variety Zbruch, the maximum rooting rate (96%) was obtained when stored in a sand layer without lime treatment of the cut surfaces. Under other storage conditions, rooting rates were lower. The intensity of vegetative biomass accumulation during both the first and second vegetation cycles depended on varietal characteristics, the type of planting material, storage duration, and fertilization. No single storage method was identified that ensured the maximum intensity of vegetative biomass accumulation in plants grown from cuttings and shoots. The yield of planting material for Panfyilska amounted to 234.4 thousand units/ha in the first vegetation cycle and 2,154.8 thousand units/h Product Description popup.authors Viktoriia V.
