Project Objective: To develop a disinfectant formulation using metal nanoparticles derived from STC Monocrystal and evaluate the toxicological properties of experimental disinfectant compositions on laboratory animals. The following main results were obtained as a result of the project phase: A comprehensive review of both domestic and foreign scientific literature regarding the study of the biological impact of nanoparticles with varying origins on prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells of diverse levels of organization was conducted. The prospects and relevance of the search for new disinfectants using metal nanoparticles and the need for research on the mechanisms of their effect on cells of different levels of organization, biocompatibility or potential toxicity. 1. As a result of the screening of disinfectant activity against mycobacteria (M. bovis, M. Avium, M. fortuitum) and enterobacteria (E. coli and S. aureus) 13 of samples of Ag, Zn, Cu metal nanoparticles and their compositions at different concentrations and stabilizers, the 3 most active ones (No 4, 6, and 8-6) were selected. 2. By mixing the most active samples of metal nanoparticles in a 1:1 ratio, the formulation of 4 experimental samples was developed: D1 (No. 4+No. 6), D1d ((No. 4+No. 6+1.5% DMSO), D2 ((No. 4+No. 8-6), D2d ((No. 4+No. 8-6+1.5% DMSO). It was determined that the bactericidal effect against mycobacteria was manifested when using working samples at a concentration of 50% or higher with a minimum exposure of 24 hours, and against enterobacteria – at a concentration above 5% with a minimum exposure of one hour. The addition of DMSO did not significantly affect the biocidal properties of the experimental samples. 3. The toxicological properties of 4 experimental samples of disinfectants based on metal nanoparticles were evaluated using a laboratory animal model: according to the results of acute toxicity testing on rats, they are relatively harmless and low-hazardous substances.
